Reach your full potential

Take the steps necessary to keep you moving forward

My Approach

I believe coaching is primarily about discovery, self-awareness, and choice. It’s my way of empowering clients to discover their own answers and support them in achieving important choices in their lives. Some of the best leaders are those that take the time for self-reflection. We’ll collaborate to co-create the outcomes you’re seeking and uncover the possibilities that are aligned with your values and purpose.

My focus is on coaching professionals/leaders who have already accomplished a lot but now seek something more, want to get unstuck, want to move forward, want more meaningful relationships at work and at home, and want to have the space to grow and explore possibilities. Those who desire to live a life on purpose and achieving their full potential. I help unlock their inner resources to move forward and get into action.

Because each Executive Coach has his or her own style of coaching their clients, I thought that you would be interested in knowing how I coach, what I expect of my clients and what my clients can expect of me.

I Expect Your Best

If you are hiring me, then you’re probably ready to do and be your best.  If you are having a challenge with doing your best I will look at what’s standing in the way, and then help you to get back on to your path.

I Make Direct Requests

From time to time, I’ll make a direct request, like “Will you accomplish X in the next two weeks?”  You may accept the request, counter-offer (say what you are willing to do), or decline (rare).

I Say What’s On My Mind

I’ll ask at times if it’s okay to make specific suggestions on handling a problem or going for an opportunity.  Honesty is one of my values--I am straight and expect the same from you. Any suggestion and/or advice are simply ways to brainstorm alternatives. The ultimate decision is yours to make.

I Use My Intuition

When I hear a tone in your voice, or notice something amiss, I’ll ask you about it.  Often, it is reading between the lines that offer the chance to go deeper and resolve something beneath the surface.  However, I don’t confront or push; I’ll merely invite you to take a look.

I Give Homework

I usually ask my clients to come up with two or three goals, actions, or breakthroughs to have between one call and the next.  If it is too much, say so.  If you want more, just ask.

I Am Available (Virtually)

I want to hear it all.  If you have a personal problem, troubled by something (even the coaching process or me), starting to realize something big or want to share a breakthrough, call, text, or e-mail me.  I will be in touch as soon as I can be.

What My Clients Are Saying

— Judy, CMO

“You have been an amazing resource and a fantastic coach. I know your coaching has helped me get my saboteur under control and believe in myself. You’ve been able to reframe how I present my skills in a way that was authentic and more compelling.”

— Hans, CBDMO

“I jokingly called it the “Jedi Mind Trick”, but Mike enabled me to look at my work/role from alternate perspectives and find a choice that really resonated with me. This created a shift in my attitude and allowed me to move forward with renewed energy and excitement. My mind went into overdrive and I knew what I had to do to have a greater impact and better outcomes.”

— Allan, CEO, Cosmetic Surgical Practice

“I originally engaged Mike to help me achieve greater success and efficiencies in my practice. After a few months of working with him, we’ve explored a lot more --and I’ve benefited well beyond just prioritizing and achieving my business goals. Mike is a gifted and empathic listener, and because of this, he has been able to help me focus on eliminating minor roadblocks personally and professionally, in business and at home, and helped me achieve clarity on some of their root causes. Eliminating clutter and strategic planning have been our focus. Because of Mike’s background in marketing, I’ve exploited some of his skill set and grown my business enormously inspired by many of his suggestions. On a personal basis, Mike has helped me also deal with some work-life issues and made a positive impact on both my professional life and my family life. I’m spending more time on important things and really feel like we have progressed and continue to make breakthroughs after each session. It’s really been working for me.”

— Paul, Head of D&I

“With Mike’s guidance, I’ve learned to trust my intuition more. I appreciate how he is always championing me and helping me to look at situations from various perspectives. I’m better able to see the value I bring and have gained confidence in speaking my mind when I have a specific point of view. We’ve worked on recognizing my strengths and getting my work and life aligned with my values. He has kept me on track in reaching my goals and parsing them out to be more manageable and avoid getting overwhelmed. Mike has kept me moving forward and I’m learning to take risks that push me beyond my comfort zone. All this to say, Mike’s coaching has made a noticeable shift in achieving greater fulfillment in both my work and life.”

— Nina, Founder & Executive Director

“I had some pretty ambitious business goals to accomplish when Mike and I started working together. He has held me accountable and kept me on track in refining and achieving them.  I really appreciate Mike's clarity, warmth, and flexibility to meet me where I'm at. Sometimes we can be very focused on tasks and steps necessary to deliver the outcomes I’m seeking, yet he can pivot to address issues that arise suddenly, even just before our call. These topics may be preparing myself for a difficult conversation or coaching me around work/life balance. Mike is always present and he has helped me overcome certain limiting beliefs such as imposter syndrome and has helped me to value my resilience and competence. I realize these thoughts may never go away but he has helped me quiet their voices and be in touch with my inner wisdom and strength.”

— Steve, Managing Director

“Having just passed the decade mark with my current firm, I wanted to take greater responsibility for what the next 10 years would look like and live with intentionality. Mike guided me through a process that helped me gain a clearer understanding of my values and the value I bring others. I’m now better able to articulate a stronger narrative of my contributions. Through numerous inquiries, I gained greater confidence that what I’ve done demonstrates the value I deliver and much of it might even be considered ‘badass.’ This opportunity for self-reflection has helped validate my instincts. I would say to someone who might consider hiring Mike for coaching to ‘do it’. He has shifted me from assessing my options to moving forward with clear direction.”

— Sarah, CFO

“It has been a challenging year for me trying to find the right balance between the work demands of a start-up and family life. Mike has helped me clarify my goals and held me accountable for acting on them to move closer to making the decisions I need for my career and my family responsibilities. I feel I have made a lot of progress and am more realistic about what I can get done and what to delegate. I am much clearer on what is emotionally draining or energizing and ensuring I can be refueled when exhausted. I’ve really appreciated Mike’s ability to pull through the threads of our conversations and tying them back to my original objectives. He has raised my self-awareness and I’ve become super intentional focusing on the highest and best use of my time.”
